OPP Honours Local Victim Services Volunteers

From Muskoka Victim Services:

Fyonna accepts an award from OPP for local victim services volunteers

On Monday, the Ontario Provincial Police celebrated 18 community leaders and groups who advocate for and help victims and survivors of crime in the central region of Ontario.

Our organization was honoured to nominate 3 local individuals who go above and beyond for people in our communities of Muskoka:

• Dan Collins, staff and community volunteer with Muskoka Victim Services

• Fyonna Vanderwerf, Volunteer Crisis Responder with Muskoka Victim Services

• Jody North, Executive Director of MiND-AID, for the organization’s community collaboration

Each of them works behind the scenes to ensure members of our communities are not alone during the most devastating moments of their lives. To Dan, Fyonna, and Jody — thank you for showing up for others with your genuine desire to listen and support them. We are so grateful to work alongside you. Congratulations on receiving these well-deserved awards for all you do.

Jody North receives an award on behalf of Mind-Aid mental health help for young people in Muskoka, by Eva Zachary, the executive director of Muskoka Victim Services.
